Pressed Sections

Common profiles include angles, channels, Z-sections, C-sections, trays, channels with unequal legs and top-hat sections. Hot rolled sections are produced in standard profiles and sizes at a steel mill. Pressed sections are formed from flat sheet or plate and can provide greater flexibility over dimensions, material thickness and profile shape. They are particularly useful when a standard hot rolled section does not suit the application.

Pressed sections can be produced from materials including hot rolled, cold reduced, galvanised, Aluzinc, pre-painted steel and aluminium, subject to grade, thickness and forming requirements. The correct material should be selected according to the required strength, formability, appearance and corrosion resistance.
