Different substrates and coating systems are available for interior, exterior, decorative and industrial applications.

Yes. Pre-painted steel can be pressed, folded, roll-formed and fabricated without painting the completed component. The material grade, coating flexibility, bend radius, tooling condition and protective-film requirements must be appropriate for the forming process. Clean, well-maintained tooling helps prevent scratches and damage to the finished surface.

Selected pre-painted products can be supplied with a removable protective film to reduce the risk of scratches during cutting, forming, handling and transport. The film should normally be removed within the manufacturer’s recommended period, particularly before prolonged outdoor exposure. Please specify any protective-film requirements when ordering.

Pre-painted steel can be suitable for outdoor use when the substrate and coating system are specified for the intended environment. Factors such as UV exposure, humidity, coastal conditions, chemicals and cut-edge protection can affect service life.

Common coating systems include polyester, polyurethane, plastisol and PVDF-based finishes. Each offers different levels of formability, colour retention, UV resistance, corrosion protection and durability. The correct coating should be selected according to whether the finished component will be used indoors, outdoors or in a demanding industrial environment.
